Plan a paper mosaic study
Cut or tear colored paper into a small set of shapes and arrange them on a plain sheet. Try the largest areas first. Leave visible gaps and see how they affect the image.
Photograph several arrangements before attaching anything. Change one color group or spacing choice at a time. Paper studies let you explore a composition without assuming it will transfer directly to another material or installation.
